“Thank You, Mom!”— From Rewriter to One Year Adventure Novel Student

This Mother’s Day, students from our One Year Adventure Novel program submitted letters of gratitude to their mothers via the student forum. With their permission, we wanted to share one with you here!

From Rewriter to One Year Adventure Novel Student

By S.U., a One Year Adventure Novel Student

I’d grown up loving stories. As a six-year-old, I would sit and rewrite Charlotte’s Web from memory. Over the years, I developed other passions, but my mom never forgot how much I loved writing.

During the summer of 2023, we were looking for a new English curriculum and she stumbled upon One Year Adventure Novel. I immediately fell in love. A few months later, she helped me create my account for the forum and signed me up for the annual Summer Workshop. I honestly don’t think I would’ve written (let alone finish) a book without her.

One Year Adventure Novel has been one of the most impactful experiences of my life. The people are so welcoming and funny, and they all are so unique. The curriculum helped me become a much better writer. I’ve grown and so has my writing. I now have a deeper appreciation for sci-fi, contemporary books are so much more interesting, and I discovered that fantasy isn’t the only genre I enjoy writing.

To my loving and wonderful Mom: thank you for never forgetting the girl who rewrote Charlotte’s Web. I wouldn’t have found One Year Adventure Novel with you. <3

Thank you for your letter, S.U.! We are so thankful that your mother found Clear Water Press! It’s a privilege to be a part of your homeschooling experience!
