Once asked if he would like to be the next C.S. Lewis, Mr. S.\u2014as he is called by his students\u2014replied, “I’d rather train a thousand C.S. Lewises.”<\/p>

Runt the Brave<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Runt the Hunted<\/em><\/a>, the first two of his young adult novels, have received numerous awards, including the 2005 Ben Franklin Award for Best New\u00a0Voice in Children\u2019s Literature<\/strong> and the 2008 Eric Hoffer Award<\/strong>. The final book in the trilogy, The Curse of the Seer<\/a><\/em>, released\u00a0with AMG Publishers in 2015.<\/p>

His professional work includes stage plays, radio scripts, short stories, newspaper columns, non-fiction ghost-writing, and comic books.<\/em>.<\/p>

He is also editor of Crosswind Comics<\/strong>, which develops educational materials for youth-at-risk and prison inmates, among them the\u00a0Amazing True Life Stories<\/em> series as well as The Amazing Gospel<\/em> graphic novel, which has been translated into several languages and distributed around the world.<\/p>
