How Your Student Can Enter<\/h2>\n
\n

1. Any student using\u00a0Cover Story<\/em>\u00a0this school year<\/strong><\/span> is eligible to submit\u00a0up to 2 limericks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2. The questions must be submitted by the parent\/teacher of the student.<\/p>\n

3. To be eligible for prizes, the limerick(s) must come\u00a0from the student’s own mind<\/strong>, with no outside input from family, friends, or teachers.<\/p>\n

4. The limerick must be accompanied by the student’s\u00a0first name, age, state\/province of residence<\/strong>, and\u00a0shipping address<\/strong>. (The address should be accompanied by a first and last name, but only the student’s first name will be listed next to his or her entries.)<\/p>\n

  • We will only share your student\u2019s submissions using their first name, age, and state\/province of residence<\/strong>. No last names will be mentioned.<\/li>\n
  • Parents\/family members: Only students are eligible to receive giveaway items<\/strong>.     Limerick Guidlines<\/h2>\n

    Limericks, which are covered in Chapter 18<\/strong> of the\u00a0Cover Story\u00a0<\/em>textbook, should follow this form:<\/p>\n

    9<\/strong> syllables (A-rhyme)<\/span>
    \n 9<\/strong> syllables (A-rhyme)<\/span>
    \n 5<\/strong> syllables (B-rhyme)<\/span>
    \n 5<\/strong> syllables (B-rhyme)<\/span>
    \n 9<\/strong> syllables (A-rhyme)<\/span><\/p>\n

    Though the student has a bit of flexibility with the number of syllables,\u00a0the rhyme scheme should remain unchanged<\/strong>. Typically, limericks are lighthearted and humorous, and often depict a particular mishap befalling the character presented in the first line.<\/p>\n
